Its getting close to year’s end, so we thought we would recap some of our favorite releases in 2016. Somewhere in here could be our album of the year….

Young Benjamins-“Losing Our Shadows”

The Everywheres“Dignity Fever”

Sidewatcher“Otra Vez”

The Auras-“Saturn Day”

The Tracks

Propeller“Fall Off The World”

The Corsets“Monta Sanica”

Fruition“Labor Of Love”

The Counterfactuals

Hazen Sage“Thrive”

Keith Morris & The Crooked Numbers“The Dirty Gospel”

The Minnows

While there is no album, yet, and no date set for release, we are hoping this band from Belfast can get something released in 2016. After listening to several of the tracks slated to appear on a new album, we know it will Irish rock.

THE EVERYWHERES-Dignity Fever

the everywheresThe Everywheres latest release, Dignity Fever, contains 8 insanely melodic psychedelic-pop tracks. Released in April, 2016, the Halifax nativesĀ deliver an album filled with wonderful riffs and solos, dynamite organ, and some way cool reverb. There are great melodies and harmonies, and the use of tambourine is a nice touch. The songs are well written, transporting me back to a time of tie dye, and floating around my house in a haze of peace and love. A wonderful collection of tracks that remind meĀ of artists such as Tommy James & The Shondells, The Zombies, and The Small Faces. A powerful trip back to the 1960s. Favorite tracks: “Trembling Hand“, with its great acoustic guitar picking; “The Law“, with cool changes, great bass line, and wonderful organ; “South Of Quinpool Road“, with its bluesy edge, and sections that sound like they could have been on Sgt. Peppers. A wonderful time. A wonderful album. A dynamite band. Check it out here, and get yourself a copy or 2. Put it on, play it loud, and join the party!
